Fall Fest 2025 -- A Perfect Fall Day

On September 28th, more than 500 children from toddlers to teens lined up at Emerald Necklace Garden Club’s tables to make small flower arrangements. It was a perfect fall day at Brecksville Metropark for the event.

Club members pre-filled small cat food cans with Oasis, contributed flowers from their gardens and added donations from Kennicott Wholesale Floralist, some purchased mums and roses. Cut zinnias and other annuals were donated by Schoen Gardens.

Every arrangement was beautiful and different. The children were so proud of their accomplishment. A flier that described how to take care of their arrangement to make it last was provided to each participant. Club membership information and a tri-fold with photos of club activities and programs was on display. Traditional ginger cookies baked by club members were enjoyed by children and adults alike.

This holiday event was initiated in 2017 by member Jane Petrie who continues to chair the celebration and encourage member participation. ENGC HOLIDY TREE DECORATED FOR BOTANICAL GARDEN

ENGC members met on November 16, 2025 to trim the tree with decorations made by many club members. The tree theme is “A rose is a rose is a rose.” The tree is decorated with paper roses from light pink to burgundy, complemented by crocheted yarn roses. Live baby’s breath fills in and is enhanced by other ornaments. A birdcage tops the tree with roses spilling out and birds peeking out from a nest. The holiday festival opens November 22 and trees will remain up until January 4th.

is in Full Swing!

ENGC members met in March to decide on a theme for their 2025 10-foot tree for Cleveland Botanical Garden’s Frost holiday celebration. A birdcage topper with roses spilling out is planned. Members worked individually and met again in August for a group workshop.
